Representatives from Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic visited Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and talked to the Chancellor on 10 June, 2015. The visiting authorities comprised of Vasif Talibov (Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan), Dr. Niazi Novruzov (Minister of Health), Famil Seyidov (Minister of Economy and Industry), Azər Zeynalov (First Deputy Speaker of Nakhchivan House of Representatives), Ramiz Mammadov (Assistant Head of House), and Shakur Babayev (Julfa District Governor).

In this meeting which was attended by Dr. Jabbarzadeh (Tabriz Governor), Dr. Somi (TUOMS Chancellor), Dr. Pour Mohammadi (Tabriz University Chancellor), Dr. Shabestari (Tabriz Governor's Assistant), and Mr. Babaei (Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tabriz), the chancellor of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences gave a brief report of the university capacities and explained its medical facilities for foreign patients. Dr. Somi also showed his full support for transferring knowledge and experience in medical sciences to the Nakhchivani side. Moreover, Dr. Pour Mohammadi introduced the capacities of Tabriz University for international students.

Afterward, Niazi Novruzov thanked Dr. Somi and expressed his willingness to have more collaboration with TUOMS in medical aspects. Furthermore, Vasif Talibov and other Nakhchivan parliament members emphasized the importance of a close relationship with Tabriz universities and authorities because of its geographical status and vital role in the region.
