New Head of International Affairs Appointed at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences
Dr. Mohammadreza Rashidi has been appointed as the new Head of the International Affairs Office at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, according to a decree issued by the university president.
As reported by the university’s Public Relations Office, the official ceremony of appreciation and introduction was held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in the President’s Office, with the presence of Dr. Ahmadreza Joudati, President of the University, along with vice presidents and academic officials.
During the ceremony, Dr. Joudati emphasized the vital importance of advancing scientific diplomacy, identifying its primary goal as significantly increasing the enrollment of international students.
He stated, “Competition among medical universities for attracting students is intense, and we must lead both in quantity and quality.”
Dr. Joudati added that the experience of international students should be so positive that even after graduation and returning to their home countries, they retain fond memories and a sense of belonging to Tabriz University of Medical Sciences—serving as our cultural and scientific ambassadors worldwide.
The university president also stressed the need for active expansion of international relations, particularly with European countries, and called for the initiation and sustained implementation of scientific diplomacy aligned with global conditions to elevate the university’s international standing.
In this session, Dr. Mohammadreza Rashidi was officially appointed as the new Head of International Affairs by Dr. Joudati.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Joudati expressed appreciation for the efforts of Ms. Somayeh Aghabeygloo during her previous tenure and wished continued success for Dr. Rashidi, who brings a distinguished track record to his new role.
