Professor Dr. Graciela Pavon-Djavid paid a visit to Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and talked to the authorities of the university to find potential cooperative fields and discuss the terms of joint projects. This visit resulted in signing an MOU which included 20 articles and covered such collaborative aspects as the exchange of educational trainers, researchers, students, and academic articles; development of common research projects and PhD dissertations; and writing common academic articles. Moreover, Professor Dr. Somi, the chancellor of TUMS, proposed that at this level health and nutrition departments of the two parties focus on joint research and educational projects.

In her visit, Professor Pavon-Djavid also held a scientific workshop on "the Role of Carotenoids on Atherosclerosis and Heart Disease" and "Carotenoids Effect Assessment on Developed Related Researches" and visited the directors of some TUOMS research centers.

Professor Dr. Pavon-Djavid is a researcher and prominent scholar from Université Paris-13 and INSERM institute and BICHAT heart disease hospital.
