The Hematology and Oncology Research Center of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences hosted Professor Truuske de Bock from the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) of Netherlands on 1-5 October 2016.

During her stay, in addition to holding the one-day conference on “Cancer Registry and Cancer Screening”, some joint projects were discussed in details. She also visited the hematology and oncology research centre of TUOMS and the East Azerbaijan Population Based Cancer Registry Office, and offered her helpful comments.

Meanwhile, since October is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” and there’s an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease, Prof. de Bock was introduced with a number of organizations working on this issue in Tabriz.

Professor de Bock is an epidemiologist and the head of oncological epidemiology department at UMCG. She has published an approximate of 280 papers in Medline and enjoys an H-index of 45.
